Step 3 — Check the report cards

Quarterly results tab: is revenue growing YoY? Is profit growing YoY? One bad quarter is forgivable; shrinking numbers for 3-4 quarters in a row is a real warning. The best story: sales up, profit up faster (the company is becoming more efficient).
